Wicked Winter Wednesday Writeup No.6
Jolly good job you guys got the other side, cause we got four people. And
it's not because it was an asenine idea. It's because El Nino picked New Year's
Eve to go frigid. Anybody have any idea what to do with the three bottles of
champagne that are left? Sorry, I'm not baking brownies again. Now of course me
having this great swelled head, which you would know if you were coming to the
book club, is the result of my Neanderthal ancestry, thought I could get away
with having an idea. The idea in question was to do a midnight run for all those
like myself who had been too busy going to the New Year's party to experience
the lighter side of this event, or to run. So I decided to do one just as soon
as it turned dark. Which of course was a good thing, because it was getting
progressively colder as the sun (what sun) wore off. But get this. The hash is
composed of such geniuses, that only one person, + Laird, + Marie found the
trail. 1 must state again, I have never run the real midnight run. So, 1 got the
trail wrong. But it went the northern baby loop instead of the southern baby
loop. Big deal. Unfortunately, it was so cold, even though the morrow was short
sleeve shirt weather, that Tavern on the Green lights, noisemakers, French
champagne and snake offerings on the imagine mosaic at Strawberry Fields were no
comfort. At least nobody got to the party late, and congratulations to Steve for
finding the first check. There's one person I'm sure enjoyed it for at least a
minute, civilian status notwithstanding. Anything's better than doing taxes,
especially if they're not your own. NB: I feel like the Chinese streetcorner
hawkers that tell you how to run your life - Estimateds are due again.
