Keith, called from the depths (actually the Bayside LIRR station) to set this one was enticed when told the start location could be anywhere he wanted. He picked an old favorite, Battery Park, the cobblestone triangle, cum inside of the Municpal Police building we had never seen before. It being still open at 7, they wanted to know why we were occupying their premises. It was therefore cold.
The run crossed the park to South Street.
I just saw a squirrel on the boardwalk on the riverside of the UN, and another. Could they be hashing? Many, many staff members spent an hour in the lobby welcoming home their chief, waiting for his post-Irakal words of wisdom very loosely paraphrased as no diplomacy without force behind it, no SG without the staff behind him. Sorry to have succumbed to scribal news disease.
Great run, shortcuttable around the tall bldgs. Difficult subway check required Sunday Eva run savvy or listening to scribe yell ONON upon exiting BB (bridge, not reinstated NY scribe). So I, in the company of two lady lawyer quasi virgins reached the Thai ONIN used a year previously post some drunken bash first, regalling Keith with my difficulties (which he shared) finding the BB steps. Please, Giulani helpers, come back!
I apologize for not even being able to fill up one column, due to general misjudgment and a subsequent attack of overly serious editing.
