On summer weekend nights the city truly becomes Gotham. Investment bankers head for the Hamptons or Nantucket. The city becomes a special place for those who truly appreciate it. The traffic becomes lighter, you can get theater tickets for "sold out shows" and the park is full of life and music. The Hash also becomes manageable size wise. Many of the Wenday night crowd feel compelled to escape NYC in search of "Crowds, Attitude and the same people they see all week"

With this mindset I was looking forward to a Friday summer hash through Gotham. I was a little concerned knowing the Hare had set one of last years "nominee" trails for worst run of the year. Lucky for her there was stiff competion ( Patricia and Elaine there is still hope ). The run started at 46th and Third. I found a chalk mark FFMH3 whatever that means. The usual suspects showed up (only one investment banker Heather). After the instructions for the virgins and tourists we headed of "to the west". The trail was well marked. But we all managed to get lost and began ranging through Bryant Park, which was full of people who appeared to be saving seats for the Monday night free movie. We picked up the trail at 40th and 5th and headed of east. The hash had a musical "theme". Kerry told us to look for miniature musical instruments at the special checks. It appears that she was inspired one night while with Mr. Murphy ( it has been noted by a few harrirets that Michael is hung like a leprechaun ). After 40 minutes of ziging and zaging we wound up at "Sandy's" in Murray Hill.

Full moon on ins have great potential since most people are off for the weekend (the big event for sat was the Guinness Flaigh with such Irish acts as "hootie and the blowfish"). This night proved to be no exception. Chris , Michael Jerry and the rest of mismanagement led of in a series of new songs as part of the down downs. Kerry was given a name ( noted above ). The full moon group spread enough "down downs" around to prime the pump for a good evening. As the music and beer flowed lipstick Leslie appeared and everyone noted that something was different about her. Not so much different more like enhanced. Heather ( not to be confused with the 6' 2" transvestite who hangs out with Peter and Chris at the Village Idiot ) said she was an expert on the subject volunteered to confirm the rumor. After a close visual examination she reported "they're real like mine". Danny was up to his usual "nice guy Routine" working on "Me=Ho" the only person I know who was born with a Hash name. Jerry "Fluffy Lockerman" was telling everyone about the young boys and girls he was working with (can you imagine spending $5,000 a moth to send your rich privileged kid off to camp with "Lockerman"

The beer/money ran out abruptly at 11:30 when the owner informed Kerry it was time to pay the obligatory 20% tip ( Sandy's is now on our list of bars to only visit when you have a highly contagious disease ). All and all it was a great night in Gotham.

Because they only told us about a mandatory 20% tip AFTER we had already pretty much spent all our money. Plus they wouldn't include the $30 in tips Kerry had already given them towards that!!! So they got like $100 in tips for serving pitchers. Please. Next time we'll RENT them for $100.
